Description

Society as a target represents the most systemic form of TFGBV, where attacks are designed to reshape broader social norms around gender equality and democratic participation.

As highlighted in the Prevention by Design analysis, "TFGBV is not just a personal issue—it is a systemic problem that undermines free expression, economic participation, and democratic engagement" (Prevention by Design, 2025).

With close to 90% of men and women holding fundamental biases against women, systemic prejudices are difficult not to build directly into algorithmic systems and AI without special care (UN, 2023). Societal level campaigns often exploit algorithmic amplification to reach maximum scale and normalize harmful attitudes toward women and marginalized genders across digital spaces.
